Question: How do I set up Outlook 2000 with my email account? top




Answer: You can easily set up and use Outlook with your email account by doing the following:

  1. Click on the TOOLS menu on the top menu bar of your Outlook program and then click ACCOUNTS.
  2. Click ADD and then MAIL on the top right side of the dialogue box.
  3. Type in your Display Name. This is the name that will appear in the form field on your outgonig messages. Click NEXT.
  4. Type in your email address. This is the address people will use to send you an email. It will look similar to you@yourdomain.com. Then click NEXT.
  5. Select POP3 as your incoming mail server (or IMAP if you so choose).
    - Type in your Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server names.
    - INCOMING and OUTGOING mailserver name: mail.yourdomain.com (replace .com with .net, .org, or whatever domain extension your domain uses. Replace "yourdomain" with your domain name. ie: mail.zipmoon.com)
    - Then click NEXT.
  6. Type in your email address as your account name. Type in the password that you used when you setup your email account. Click NEXT.
  7. Choose the method you use to connect to the internet.
    - If you use a local ISP to connect, select CONNECT USING MY PHONE LINE.
    - If you are connected to a local area network (LAN) that is connected to the Internet, select CONNECT USING MY LOCAL AREA NETWORK (LAN).
    - If you are connecting through a third party dialer slect I WILL ESTABLISH MY INTERNET CONNECTION MANUALLY.
    - Click NEXT.
  8. If you chose to make your Internet connection either through a LAN or to estalish your connection manually, click FINISH.
    - If you chose to make your Internet connection through your local ISP, select the name of that connection in the text box or select CREATE A NEW DIALUP CONNECTION.
    - Click NEXT.
  9. If you found your Internet connection in the text box on the previous page, click FINISH.
    - If you are createing a new dialup account, complete the information required in the INTERNET CONNECTION WIZARD and then click FINISH.
  10. Click on the new account name and then click PROPERTIES.
  11. Click on the SERVERS tab. In the OUTGOING MAIL SERVER section check the box MY SERVER REQUIRES AUTHENTICATION. Then click SETTINGS.
  12. Select LOG ON USING. Type in your email account name and password. Click OK. Click OK again in the next window.


Question: How do I set up Outlook Express with my email account? top

 

Answer: You can easily set up and use Outlook Express with your email account by doing the following:

  1. From the TOOLS menu on the top menu bar of your Outlook Express program and click ACCOUNTS.
  2. Click ADD and then MAIL on the top right side of the dialogue box.
  3. Type in your Display Name. This is the name that will appear in the From field on your outgoing messages. Then click NEXT.

  10. Select LOG ON USING . Type in your email account name and password. Click OK. Then click OK in the next window.

 

Question: How do I setup Thunderbird with my email account? top
 

Answer: You can easily set up and use Thunderbird with your email account by doing the following:

  1. Choose TOOLS from the top menu bar and then ACCOUNT SETTINGS.
  2. In the lower left-hand corner choose ADD ACCOUNT.
  3. Select EMAIL ACCOUNT from the dialouge box that pops up and then click NEXT.
  4. Fill out the first field with your name and the second field with your email address (you@yourdomain.com)
  5. Choose POP or IMAP, fill in the server (mail.yourdomain.com) and click NEXT.
    - NOTE: If choosing POP, and if you are going to have multiple accounts setup under this client, you may want to uncheck the box: USE GLOBAL INBOX.
  6. Type in your email address of the INCOMING USER NAME.
  7. Under the ACCOUNT name type in the name of the account as you would like it to appear in the client (ie: John's Account). Click NEXT and then FINISH.
  8. To setup your outgoing mail server (SMTP) select OUTGOING SERVER (SMTP) from the left hand side of the accounts menu (at the very bottom). If this is the first account you are setting up you have already been asked this question and you should have been asked this question. If setting up a second account click the ADD button. Fill out the information and under the SECURE CONNECTION section select NO. Click OK when done.
  9. Finally, click on your new account name (ie John's account). On the right hand side of the change the OUTGOING SERVER (SMTP) to the outgoing smtp server you just set up.

 

Question: How Do I set up the FileZilla Client in PASV mode? top
 

Answer:

  1. Launch the FileZilla Client.
  2. Choose EDIT then SETTINGS from the main menu.
  3. Select FIREWALL SETTINGS from the menu on the left.
  4. Select the PASV MODE checkbox.
  5. Select the LIMIT LOCAL PORTS USED BY FILEZILLA checkbox near the top.
  6. For the LOWEST and HIGHEST AVAILABLE port fields use 65525 and 65534 respectively.
  7. Try to reconnect to your website with the FTP client.
  8. If still experiencing issues, please contact support.

 

Question: How Do I set up the LeechFTP Client in PASV mode? top
 

Answer:

  1. Launch the LeechFTP Client
  2. From the FILE menu click OPTIONS
  3. Go to the FIREWALL tab
  4. Mark the PASV MODE radio button and click OK
  5. Unfortunately this client doesn't allow the user to select which ports for PASV mode to use. If switching over to PASV mode doesn't make a connection to the server in and of itself, please try another one of the listed clients.
  6. Try and reconnect to your website via FTP.
  7. If still experiencing issues, please contact support.

 

Question: How Do I set up the 9.95 FTP Client in PASV mode? top
 

Answer:

  1. Launch the 9.95 FTP Client
  2. From the EDIT menu click SETTINGS
  3. On the left hand side go to the FIREWALL SETTINGS
  4. On the bottom right, mark the checkbox for PASSIVE MODE
  5. Check the box LIMIT LOCAL PORTS USED BY 9.95 FTP
  6. For the LOWEST and HIGHEST AVAILABLE PORTS put 65525 and 65534 respectively (we restrict which PASV ports are open on our firewall)
  7. Click OK on the bottom left and try to reconnect to your website via FTP.
